Padel Court Maintenance

A well-maintained padel court plays better, looks professional, and lasts longer. The good news: modern courts are built to be low-maintenance. Hllye courts use hot-dip galvanized steel with baked powder coating, CE-certified tempered glass, and professional turf — but a simple care routine will protect your investment and keep members happy. This guide covers the four key areas: turf, glass, steel, and lighting.

1. Turf Maintenance: The Surface Your Players Feel

The turf is the most visible and most used part of the court. Hllye courts use professional turf — fibrillated or monofilament options — with a silica sand infill. A simple routine keeps it in tournament condition:

  • Brush regularly: daily or after heavy use, brush the turf to redistribute the sand and keep fibers upright. Use a dedicated padel/turf brush or a mechanical sweeper for multi-court clubs.
  • Check sand levels: the silica sand infill migrates over time, especially in high-traffic areas. Top up sand as needed and re-brush for an even distribution.
  • Remove debris: clear leaves, dust, and foreign objects before they get ground into the fibers.
  • Address spills quickly: clean any liquids promptly to avoid staining; use only water and mild detergent approved for synthetic turf.

2. Glass Panel Care: Keep the View Clear

Padel courts feature large tempered glass panels (10mm or 12mm, CE-certified to EN 12150) that take impact from every rally. Keep them in top shape:

  • Clean regularly: wash the glass with water and a soft sponge or squeegee. For stubborn marks, use a glass cleaner that won't leave residue.
  • Inspect the neoprene pads: Hllye glass is mounted on 5mm anti-vibration neoprene pads to prevent breakages. Check these pads periodically and replace any that show wear.
  • Check for chips or cracks: tempered glass is strong, but inspect panels after any unusual impact. Small edge chips can be monitored; significant damage should be assessed by a professional and the panel replaced.

3. Steel Structure: Corrosion Protection That Lasts

The steel frame is the backbone of the court. Hllye uses hot-dip galvanized steel with a high-temperature baked powder coating — a combination designed to resist rust even in coastal areas.

  • Visual inspection: quarterly, walk the perimeter and inspect pillars, mesh, and joints for coating damage, rust spots, or loose bolts.
  • Touch up coating: if the powder coating is scratched (e.g., from equipment impact), touch up with matching paint to protect the galvanized layer.
  • Tighten fasteners: check anchor bolts and structural connections after extreme weather or heavy vibration.
  • Keep the mesh clean: rinse the mesh panels periodically to remove dust and salt build-up in coastal climates.

All Hllye steel structures carry a 10-year warranty — if you spot anything unusual, contact our team and we'll help you assess it.

4. LED Lighting: Check and Replace as Needed

Hllye courts come with zero-glare LED floodlights (typically 4x 150W or 200W, delivering 300-400 lux). LED systems are low-maintenance but not zero-maintenance:

  • Clean the fixtures: dust reduces light output. Wipe the lenses a few times a year.
  • Check aiming and levels: ensure the lights still cover the court evenly; adjust the aim if anything has shifted.
  • Replace as needed: LED units have a long service life, but when one fails, replace it promptly so the court stays evenly lit.
  • Verify wiring: have an electrician inspect connections and weatherproofing periodically, especially after storms.
