The latest footage stemming from the training ground of Premier League giants Liverpool will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of the club’s fanbase.

Reds ravaged

Jurgen Klopp’s men have of course been just one of a host of clubs in the English top-flight forced to deal with a wide array of personnel problems over recent weeks.

Amid the hectic festive fixture list, players continue to drop like flies across the football landscape, owing to a combination of injury woes and Covid-19.

At Anfield, the likes of Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have all sat out key recent fixtures, making Liverpool’s efforts to remain within touching distance of table-topping Manchester City all the more impressive.

VVD boost

Next up for Klopp and co., meanwhile, comes a Premier League showdown with Leicester City.

After seeing their scheduled Boxing Day showdown with Leeds United postponed, the Merseysiders will make the trip to the King Power Stadium two days later, hopeful of getting the better of former boss Brendan Rodgers for the 2nd time in the space of a week.

And, as alluded to above, if the latest footage stemming from the club’s training ground is anything to go by, then Liverpool’s efforts to do precisely that could well be aided by a timely double boost on the personnel front.

Taking to social media this evening, star defender Virgil van Dijk, absent over the last couple of weeks owing to a bout of Covid-19, unveiled a clip of himself back on the training pitches at Kirkby:

And van Dijk’s post was soon followed by a similar one on the part of midfield standout Fabinho, ahead of a potential return to matchday duties at the King Power next Tuesday:
